The incidence of high-velocity injuries and polytrauma is on rising due to an increase of motor vehicular accidents. These are more commonly seen in younger individuals. Coming to an older group, the fragility fractures are seeking more medical attention. Overall, the management of fractures ranges from simple splint and cast application to complex surgeries. However, most of the adult fractures need surgical treatment. Broadly surgical treatment consists of fracture reduction and fixation by plate and screws or nails adhering to standard AO principles.
